Where are we today ?

Up and raring to go first thing this morning got a mile walkabout by 7:30 am then into town for 8 am pick up a snack for this afternoon.
Set up a few tables, Toni (Palamine) blew up a few balloons a couple of signs I made up and we posted them around so people could find us. She supplied some subs for lunch for a few of us and was enjoyed, thanks guys.Then Sandie and Jim arrived (Where are the Dixons) so nice to finally meet them too.

About noon Al, Kelly and Pheebie the Bayfield bunch pulled in early but was see nice to see them again.

Then from 1pm to 1:30 they came in droves. People signed the sign in sheet stuck on name tags then, introduce each and everyone that wanted to say something. For the next 2 1/2 hours it was a free for all, chat, socialize meet fellow bloggers and friends, snack to nibble and so on. Some we have met before and most we have not. What a great way to meet people, wander about the crowd and just chat with people most of us have something in common.

Then we just mingled chat with so many people here, friends we have not met. That's what today was all about.

Head count that I came up with today about 54 people about the same as last year. I believe it was a success and most everyone had a great time. Lots of snacks and people to talk to.

Ok we had fun, at least I know I did , we accomplished what we wanted to do. bloggers meet fellow bloggers. Real people to blogs that we have read not so much different than what we imagine. Yep we have a Canadian accent eh? And so many different accents as well.
Then people filed out and headed on their way. We cleaned up relaxed for a bit got some reading done the fired uo our Weber Q. Not much supper tonight after all the snack during the day. Simple Turkey Burger did the trick as the desert sun was setting in the west.

Had a request for this dip below that was made today. Cowboy Caviar picture below.

Jean and Skip brought this amazing dip and many people asked for the recipe. Cowboy Caviar. Jean was kind enough to whip out an email so that I could post it on todays blog post. Think I will add it to my recipe blog too for future reference. Thanks Jean and Skip.

Corn and Bean Dip ( Cowboy Caviar)

1 19 OZ can of black beans, drained and rinsed

1 cup kernel corn

1 avocado diced

1 large tomato diced

1/3 cup fresh cilantro chopped

1/4 cup squeezed lime juice

1 tbsp olive oil

2/3 tsp jalapeno pepper seeded and minced. ( today I used 1 tsp chopped green chillies)

1/2 tsp salt and pepper

Mix together and chill

Easy Peasy

That was our fun day. More pictures will be coming from other bloggers that I will pass on. Plus Suzie will make up a spreadsheet with the people who signed up today with their blogs and email addresses in the next day or so and I will forward to all the people on the list BCC if course.
