Empties: June 2013

A bit late with this one, but better late than never! Even though we're almost halfway through July I've seperated my empties from June from the ones I've finished in July. I finally have a bit less as I was away on holiday for over half of June and didn't take my empties back home with me. Still there's a few products, and one I'm very sad about that unfortunately smashed. Next month's empties is looking like it will have quite a few "throwaways" as I'm getting sick of having so much stuff around that I don't even like. But more on that next month!

L'Occitane Shower Oil with Almond Oil 250ml
This stuff is pretty amazing. I used it especially when my skin was dry or was a tad irritated, like after shaving for example. I bought it when it was still winter and cold outside and this really helped make my skin soft and not dry, which is very rare for winter time for me! I definitely see myself re-purchasing this when the weather gets cold again, but not right now as I've already got so much.

Bourjois 1 Second Magic Nail Polish Remover
I loved this in the beginning and there's still some product left but I've started feeling a bit juck about using it for too long so I'm throwing it away. It's supposed to be nourishing for your nails and fingers with ingredients such as almond oil, but I felt my nails were left brittle and extremely dry if I left the residue on for any longer than while still removing polish. It also does not smell of vanilla, it smells like any other horrible smelling nail polish remover. It might sound now like I hate the product, I absolutely don't and I've really loved the ease of it opposed to rubbing and rubbing with cotton to get polish off. I might purchase this again at some point, but it's not something I feel I need to have. I'll re-purchase if I ever just feel like it, I'm interested to see how much I'll miss it.

Garnier Intensive 7 Days Body Lotion for Normal Skin - click here for review -
I feature one of these in almost all, or every other empties post. I love this for my upper body. It's amazing. I always have one on the go and one or two backups.

Boots Extracts Vanilla Body Butter 200ml
My goodness, I loved this stuff! The smell is unbelievably good, it's goorgeous! It's also a great product, and it's also pretty cheap! Once I get through my current collection of body lotions and potions that is taking up way too much space, I will definitely buy another one of these!

The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector 30ml
I received a set with four of these smaller sized body shop hand creams. I initially loved the hemp hand cream when I first tried it about a year ago, but have since found other hand creams I like better. This is good in terms of being really hydrating, but it leaves a bit of a residue and takes a while to absorb which isn't ideal for daytime. I've used it night time and it's fine, but I still prefer other hand creams so unless I get it for christmas or my birthday I won't be buying this again.

The Body Shop Wild Rose Hand Cream SPF 15 100ml
I remember being so excited when I first spotted this as I had been searching everywhere for a hand cream with SPF that wasn't overly expensive like my favourite Kanebo Sensai Cellular Performance Intensive Hand Treatment SPF 8 and this was my first find. It's good with the SPF and all but this leaves way too much of a residue on my hands leaving them slippery and pretty much "unusable" for way too long. It also smells too strongly for my personal tastes. An ok handcream, but not something I will be re-purchasing.

Shiseido The Skincare Extra Gentle Cleansing Foam 50ml
I quite like this cleanser. I'm trying and wanting to cut out foaming cleansers completely, and so therefore will not buy anymore, nor purchase this, but I have so many of these deluxe samples it seems a bit bad to just throw them away. This one is very gentle and barely foams up though, so I feel it's more okay than other more abrasive ones.

Emma Hardie Amazing Face Natural Lift and Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm - click here for review -
It's no secret that I love this cleansing balm, I bought two backups when this was nearing the end. I urge everyone to try it, it's quite the game changer when it comes to your skin. Highly recommended.

Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S Thirst Quenching Serum - click here for review -
So I finished another bottle of this. I've already ordered my third bottle and am anxiously waiting for it to finally arrive. I have stopped trying to decide on wether or not to try something else and have simply succumbed to the fact that I need to have this available, at all times. It's amazing, makes my skin so much better in so many ways, so why deny it? It finishes way too quickly, but oh well. It's one of the best skincare products I have ever used. There, I said it.

Clarins Eye Contour Gel 3ml
I actually really loved this. I didn't expect to think too much of it, but I was really pleasantly surprised. It really did what it says it will; helps fight puffiness and minimises dark circles. On top of that it also kept my eye area bright and hydrated. A great daytime option for pretty much anyone in their 20's and 30's.

La Prairie Cellular Eye Contour Cream 15ml - click here for review -
I never break skincare really. I once broke the most over expensive tiny jar of Caudalie oil serum when it was brand new, and that broke my heart. Imagine my face when this smashed all over the bathroom floor. That is also why it's wrapped up if you were wondering. This stuff is absolutely amazing. It's expensive, but I started using this around the beginning of the year, I think in December and I still had barely made it halfway through the pot! No eye cream I've ever used has lasted that long before. This could have potentially lasted me close to a year which actually makes it not that expensive at all.

Shiseido Urban Environment UV Protection Cream Plus SPF 50
I really loved this sunscreen. It's not as good as my favourite Eucerin Sun Fluid Mattifying Face SPF 50 and it's certainly not as good, for my skin, as current favourite Kate Somerville Serum Sunscreen, but it's good nonetheless. The only difference with this compared to my favourites are they are lighter on the skin. This is a tad heavier and can feel heavier on the skin. If you have a while to wait while it absorbs, then it's fine and you won't feel it's there, but if you have to apply makeup straight it's a bit more annoying. Still though, no complaints, I just prefer those other ones.

Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm in Gothic and Passion
If any lipstain should have been called the "Kissable Balm Stain" it should have been these, not the other ones. These stay put throught it all. I remember my continued amazement throughout the whole day, making my boyfriend somewhat puzzled of just how excited a simple lip product could make me. "Look! It's still on!" I exclaimed after almost every sip of my glass or bite. The best part was that I could give my boyfriend a kiss and my lips stayed just as pink or red, and his didn't get any colour on them at all. They dry out fast, and they are horrible to try and wear now, but it was good while it lasted. They are quite a bit drying on the lips, and were pretty much useless after a short month since opening them, so I don't see myself repurchasing, but I just might at some point.

My Face One Hit Wonder Lip Gloss in Diamonds and Pearls
I remember when the My Face cosmetics launched in London and I went running down to Boots on the hunt for "Morococo". It was a beautiful shade that unfortunately smashed and if I could get my hands on it without having to go to London right now then I most certainly would. I bought a few other things as well and with it came this gloss. I loved mixing it with a bit of different lipsticks making my own super shiny liquid lipstick glossy type thing. When moving to France I forgot about it. I recently spotted it and wanted to start using it again, but the tip has turned yellow so off to the bin it goes!

Molton Brown Invigorating Suma Ginseng Bath & Shower 30ml
It's no secret I love Molton Brown body washes and this is no different in terms of the product itself. The smell is a tad too manly for my tastes so I won't be buying this particular one, but I will keep buying my other favourites from the range.

Balenciaga Florabotanica Eau De Parfum 1.2 ml
This is ok, but not too my personal tastes. It's quite heavy and just not something I would ever want to wear. I'm not sure if my sample has gone bad though, as I must admit I've had it since the perfume launched quite a few months ago. But if this is how it smells it's certainly not for me, but might cater more to heavy perfume lovers that like Chanel's No 5 and such.

Valentino Valentina Eau De Parfum 1.5 ml
Now this one, this one I really like. This smells like your genuinely in a garden filled with fresh flowers It's gorgeously feminine and fresh without the citrus you normally get. I really like this one.
